Firstly, Amanda Morrone, the Vice President of Finance, completed and sent the grant allocations for the winter semester 2020. Emails have been sent out to the respective club executives, with an overall grant allocation of 28,537.52$. Amanda reiterated that all money that Congress makes will go back to the students. Next, President Aria Khiabani reflected on Congress’s work and provided goals for the upcoming winter semester.
Furthermore, Congress held this meeting in the presence of our student life animator Trudy Ste-Croix to discuss some exciting activities that are going to be held this semester, so be prepared to mark your calendars. To start with, a PJ’s and Pancakes event is going to be held on Tuesday, February 25th. Pancakes will be served from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Student Lounge.
Also, the counselling service team invited the local police to discuss cyberbullying on February 25th, from 11 AM until the end of AP. Additionally, Laurence Liang, Coordinator of External Affairs, in collaboration with Cherry Ying, Coordinator of Charities and Volunteering, is organizing a job and volunteering opportunities fair on March 12thfor students looking to work during the summer. Finally, make sure to check Facebook for the new Congress office hours and don’t forget to answer the student life survey on Omnivox.
